Brent’s Supported Internships Open Day

This event is aimed to candidates and their family members.

Based at Brent Civic Centre and with other local employers, this opportunity for young people with special educational needs and disabilities will see you working across the business to build transferable, practical work skills and prepare you to gain employment by the end of the programme.

What does the Supported Internship programme offer?

  • Our Supported Internship placements run for 10 to 12 weeks, giving interns the chance to learn and grow in a real workplace. Each intern is supported by a dedicated job coach and tutor throughout their journey, ensuring they feel confident and ready to succeed.
  • This exciting full-time programme involves placements and classroom learning and is fully supported by job coaches, an onsite teacher, and department managers and mentors.

Eligibility:

  • The programme is designed for young Brent residents with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) who have an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) in place.
  • Entry 2+ English and Maths
  • Desire to progress into paid work
  • Independent traveler or willing to achieve this before the start of the programme
  • DBS, background checks required.
  • Must meet UK right to work
